In its country of origin, the organisation oversees 6 monasteries and 400 viharas. The monastery that is located in Batam is the largest Buddhist monastery in South East Asia. Indonesian Maitreya Buddhist Assembly is in a turn a diocese of World Maitreya Great Tao, which has its international headquarter in Er-Mei, Taiwan.
